Mmmhhhmmm, I must say. I do beleive this is deliciously intense. I feel like I cannot wait another day for this to come to theaters. Why must I wait so.

Wow!  Suddenly, next year is very far away.
Also, I'm confused about Venom.  How are they going to protray him in this movie, cause it looks like he's Peter's "revenge" creature, and not Venom.

That's how venom started, as Spidy's black suite that made him very hostile.

Like I've been telling people for about a year, it is unlikely that Venom himself will be showing up. Venom is the name that the symbiote and its first host (Eddie Brock, a newsman who feels that Spidey ruined his career) took upon itself. It retained the name when it moved to a new host. At first the Symbiote attached to Spidey, and, just as the trailer showed, enhanced his abilities but slowly started taking control. The trailer pretty much shows exactly how that plot is going to go. Though it's unclear where the symbiote comes from (in the comics, Peter got it during the "Secret Wars" -- when many Marvel heroes were taken into space and forced to fight each other, and that seems unlikely for the movie, mostly because it was a stupid idea. In Ultimates, it's the result of a Norman Osborn experiment gone wrong, which seems more likely for the movie, though I wouldn't be surprised if they spin it; in the cartoon series, it was brought back to earth when Lt. Jameson -- the guy MJ was going to marry in Spidey 2, accidentally found it while visiting a comet or asteroid or something)

I think the one thing I don't like is making Sandman the "real killer" of Uncle Ben. Sure, ret-conning is a comic/superhero staple, but it's the staple of comics that bugs me. Yeah, nice enhancement for the revengy thing, but not necessary.

I was thinking that part might be a set-up--someone figures out that Parker is Spider-man and sets him on Sandman to keep him busy and maybe get him killed. Or that scene might be a hallucination caused by the suit to get Parker angry enough to kill.

Now that would be a good red herring to throw at us--if it weren't for how smart you are, Ent. Or is it Fell? Eh, whatever.

The trailer is sweet. Very intriguing and lots of great shots. Can't wait for the movie to hit the theaters!

When you click on that link they also have a panel of stars at Comicon '06 and that states outright that Topher Grace from That 70's Show is Venom in the movie. So Venom will be making an appearance, and from the way Sam Raimi sounded about it, a rather good sized appearance.

Here is the link to the panel shot.... I think....

*sigh*

a third villain, even if it is Venom, is going to make it hard for the movie not to suck. THe Superman pattern wins again.

Batman Begins had three villains, if not more, and worked well because Batman progressed through them like mini-bosses. I can see that structure working here.

are you differentiating the "Ra's al Ghul" that he killed in the beginning from the one at the end? Because according to their conversation later, the one who died in the building collapse was a flunky. There were exactly two primary villains, and one was in the employ of the other. I can see Harry hiring Sandman, but not Venom.

Carmine Falcone, Scarecrow, and Ra's Al Ghul. Yes, they were directly working together, and Batman progressed up the chain of command, but it's still three villains, and all I'm saying is that such a thing has been and can be done.

I don't think you can really count Falcone as a major villain in that movie.

And I still say putting in a third full-fledged villain is likely to make the movie suck.

As presented in the movie, Falcone is the villain who prompted Bruce to become a crime fighter. Discounting him seems odd.
