Well, them too.  It looks like the old-timey newbie smackdown  crew has passed the torch.

I let JP do it nowadays.

Entropy is like the master, sitting, watching his deciples do the work.  If the need arises he will take up his mantle and slap newbies around again.

Basically, when the evidence is gathered, examined, analysed, considered, fed into the Tiglath-Pileser the 3rd measurement system and then eaten... yes. Spriggan is correct.

I believe you are doing a scientific study with that there Entropy. And from my teachers mouth, if you do that for such basic things than you are a dork. Dork. =P

I actually sent him an email. The next post he made actually spelled out "you"

but there was only one since then I've seen. Maybe we scared him off.

I have to profess a little ignorance here. What exactly is the problem with him using all caps and l337-speak? I mean, it's obnoxious, but is it really grounds for constant harrassment and getting his posts deleted? It makes me glad I have a minimum of misspelled words in my posts. Do we really expect people to have a minimum skill-set with the english language in order to participate in the forums?

it's not to do with spelling. I mean, we razz sprig for his spelling, but don't threaten him.

We are a l33tspeak free forum. It's in the FAQ. The threats weren't leveled until he was told to read them, asked to stop, and he continued to do it. It's not just ignoring the rules, it's also ignoring the moderators telling you to do something.

This community is probably more insular than most, but that's how the regulars like it, and the community still grows. If the newcomers can't adapt to the forum, the regulars shouldn't be punished for that. The guy needs to stop, but he has to be given a chance for it.

Okay. Good enough for me. I suppose I would have known that if I had actually taken the time to read the FAQ myself. And I'm glad I won't be busted for poor spelling. Razzing I can handle... in fact, I kind of come to expect it anymore...

As I explained to Mastershake when he first showed up, we prefer our misspellings to be accidental.

For example, most of Spriggan's posts.

Occasionally, such accidental errors completely change the meaning of the sentence.  See my sig, for instance.

The below quote is from character generation from the long-sunk Avast Ye! game.  So you know, he was aiming for:  "Geez, is everyone charismatic as well?"

I think that was the Patriot City game, because I had the apparently non-mutant who had super-charisma, and then everyone chimed in with how friendly their characters were.

I could have sworn it was Avast Ye! because most of the group had a positive charisma.

Everyone had huge charisma in Patriot City as well, for some reason, and since it was Spriggan's only good attribute he was bummed that he was only one of many.
