One Hulking Mug
« on: May 28, 2003, 02:37:39 PM »
Readers of the web comic Its Walky will instantly recognize my new posession.... the 7-11 52oz (1.54L) insulated X-TREME MUG (tm)
Normally something this blatently commercialized and generally useless would have soared past my radar screen or attracted my scorn and condesension.
That was how I viewed the X-TREME MUG (tm) untill about 8:07 PM tuesday night. At said hour I purchased 1 40oz Slurpee and One 7-11 52oz (1.54L) INCREDIBLE HULK insulated X-TREME MUG (tm)

oh and a pack of chewing gum.

It wasn't a matter of thirst, I have plenty to drink at home and have given up soda in general. I bought the 7-11 52oz (1.54L) INCREDIBLE HULKinsulated X-TREME MUG because I thought it looked wicked cool.

Its black with a burly screaming hulk with raised fists and a furious destructive look on his face. It will keep my 52oz of soda, water, sports drink or whatever cool for a whopping six hours. It is my best guilty pleasure in a month and I am dang pround of my

A tenner says you will never use it...

Heh. The much maligned imperial system.

And its all wierd on the Euro issue - the population is strongly against it - patriotism at work - but labour and tony blair have a track record of ignoring the will of the people and doing whatever the hell they want. They should hold a referendum, but they probably wont.

Well I for one think it would be great if they'd switch to the Dollar and say a big FU to the EU.  But its not going to happen. All us English speakers should stick together what what.  Call it the Transatlantic Union or if you like Mr. Orwell INGSOC.

Hows life over in Airstrip 1 these days.

Keep with the times. It's now called the Anglosphere - America, Canada, UK, Australia and NZ. Essentially britain and all the countries that developed off of its culture/governmental organisation.

It's my belief that, when the EU changes its name to the "United States of Europe" (i kid you not... check out the arrogance of those guys ^_^), the anglosphere will emerge as a strong but informal alliance... UK and US are one of the two most similar countries with very strong alliance already.

Maybe then we brits get to invade france again.

Wow, that first post is really annoying.

I like how the Euro is so close to the value of the dollar. It was easy kickin' around Ireland and Finland to know exactly how much I was spending.

visually. Use of marquee and glowing and various colors annoy me. It's been long established on IRC that you don't do things like that in many channels, the excuse was that there are a number of text only clients that won't handle it, but the real reason is that it makes it harder to read. Yeah, it calls attention to your words, but it doesn't let you see anything else. I don't know why IRC clients and message boards still implement it. Sorry, it just bothers me. Nothing personal

You don't remember using the glowing text because I don't use it. I use Bold and Italic, but that's it. And you don't use them cuz they're hard on the eyes. Like I said, it's not personal, I just don't like it.
