El "poll" nuevo
« on: June 16, 2003, 06:52:15 PM »
If I really had my choice it would be one of those black velvet paintings of a sad clown (you know, one of those with the big glistening tear right below the eye.)

But as it stands this is my favorite poll ever.

I would like to add that I told Fell this was a horrible idea, and I still stand by that. For those of use who don't speak spanish it makes no sense.

How many of our polls HAVE made sense? The doughnuts one was your idea, Tage.

I don't speak Spanish and it makes perfect sense to me.

Yeah, sorry, Tage, but it only takes a very limited exposure to Spanish to get that one. And it's funny. (Says the man who read Don Quijote in Spanish). Anyway, I keep wanting to add an "O" on the end of poll so that we have a new chicken here.

Oh, and speaking of chickens, Jeffe and I decided that things were at least 34% more funny with penguins. Though we're still doing research on that.

I can't even order at taco bell thats how bad my Spanish is.  I'll do one in Japanese and see how you feel.

I think a japanese poll would be excellent.  (I don't speak a lick.)

Well I've allready got one in mind and if Fell wants I'll make one.  PHP will allow for uni-code Japanese so the poll will support it.  You'll just need to get the fonts from microsoft for your own PC.

I'm not really interested in doing a poll that requires the reader to download new fonts.

Ok.. so i peer at the poll and then choose chichuanas. Because i recognize it, and i like dogs.

Then i ask on IRC what the poll stands for. A norweigan says it means "If i were god i would venerate", though he said that was a very shaky translation.

Have i chosen the wrong option? I think i have.

I'm with Sprig. The only reason 42 understands it is because he speaks fluent Portugese! And I refuse to give SE's comment any credit for the reason he stated.

Why can't there be a German poll? I could read that one.

The norwegian translation is very shaky, actually.  I don't know if I'd be bteraying any inherent absurdity by providing a correct translation, so I won't.  Maybe.

My favorite Spanish phrase is one from the game "The Curse of Monkey Island" referencing.... (insert dramatic lead in, followed by stated phrase in foreboding voice) "El Pollo Diablo."

Edit: The fact that this is the most interesting thing I could come up with should give you an idea of just how familiar I am with the Spanish language. But then that was obvious, and I'm wasting space by spelling it out for you all.

Don't mind me... I waste space frequently on forums.
