wise mans fear sold out at Barnes and Noble
« on: March 06, 2011, 05:22:42 AM »
Went to the Barnes and Noble near my house in Northern Virginia. It is sold out. Wow. I have never heard of that happening with a bestseller new release.

I was at his signing in Portland on Wednesday and not only had Powell's sold out of their entire stock (350 - 400 copies) but almost every store within a 30 mile radius was also sold out!  Patrick was actually taking down the names and numbers of people who weren't able to get a copy in time for the signing.  He's such a nice guy! :D

When I went to the local B&N to pick up my copy Tuesday night, I couldn't find it for 10 minutes. Finally I had to ask the staff, who showed me a display rack nowhere near the SF/Fantasy section and about 10 feet further back from the new arrivals shelves. It was annoying. There were a lot of copies of the book in the display rack though.
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

good point peter. I made sure to ask. I went to Borders too. They are out. I have never seen this happen.
I guess, Patrick won't have to boil paper to  make it sound like soup any more.

I'm just hoping he actually gives a chunk of his proceeds to Joss Whedon, like he said on his blog.

The New York times bestseller list does not appear to have updated.  Is this common?

NYT list is always a week behind. They send out an email to publishers, but the online and print lists won't change until later.

But Wise Man's Fear will hit #1 on the March 20th list. This was announced yesterday.

Tor.com and Daw both announced it on Twitter.
