He's 45. I don't remember Kelsier's age, but it certainly wasn't anything less than late 30's, I think.

Yeah, im pretty darn sure Kelsier was supposed to be late 30's, but i could be wrong about that. I know he wasnt really young by any stretch.

I think his hair could be dyed, someone even put a picture of him with blond hair up here somewhere.  Once his gray hair is covered, and if you could him to shave, I bet he could pass for Kel's age.

He's an actor of such dynamicism and raw acting prowess that he could pull off all the characters if I had my way.

Vin, Robert Downey Jr.
Elend, Robert Downey Jr.
Kelsier, Robert Downey Jr.
Teh lord rularr, RDJ,

etc. ad nauseum.

@ Pewterarm - Kiera Knightly is probably too old, and definitely too emaciated.

I have, however, had a brilliant revelation:

Vin shall be played by the lovely and incredibly talented Ms. Megan Fox. There can be no other!

Elend, of course, will be played by Shia LeBouff. An extra scene will be added to the script so he has an excuse to run from something dangerous shouting his delightful catchphrase, "NONONONONONO!"

So i have been watching the show sanctuary and there is an abundance of characters that could be in mistborn.

Christopher Heyerdahl as sazed

Peter Wingfield as Docks (or somebody)

Robin Dunne as Elend

Thoughts?

Obsessiforge, you gotta stop.  Please.  I can't take such jokes any more.
Megan Fox?
I say all the actors for Mistborn should be chosen from the family channel. ;)

you're right, I am starting to feel tired of stretching to find ways to ruin this movie. I guess its because deep down, I really really want it to not be ruined.

Its the sort of thing where it could go the way of the Lord of the Rings, and be a reflection of the books in a way that is very very good, or it could be like...Percy Jackson.

For the love of all things holy and crushingly unholy, Percy Lord-Ruler-Lovin' Jackson.

I was gonna mention that, but I wasn't sure if an adaptation of a beloved animated series was the same as a beloved novel series.

but if we were to widen the scope, I could say that Wanted was butchered in much the same way. On the other side of the spectrum is V for Vendetta, which was a fantastic movie based on a graphic novel.

I guess...I just want it to be good, you know?

For Vin I personally like Mia Wasikowska. Resemblance to the characters as described in the books is not really important (acting skill is much more important) but I think she's got the basics. Skinny, boyish, young. Plus I think she can act rather well.

I haven't seen airbender yet, but feel compelled too.  I'm also dreading it.  WHY???!!!

Just watch the first season while pretending it is live action. You will walk away much more satisfied.

It's a curiousity thing.  Like why people stare at train wrecks.
I have the season on dvd, so I'll probably just go with your suggestion afterwards to console myself.
