I've always thought Summer Glau would make a good Vin.  She's already proven she can do the "death dealing skinny girl" thing, and she would bring a huge cult following with her.  (Myself included  ;D)
And I.  I adore Summer Glau!

I think Kelsier was described as blonde in the books, but I've always imagined David Tennant in his role

I think he could convey the charisma and the darkness very well

Awesome pictures of DT are always appreciated.

I'm sure he could do the character, but I'm not sure I can see him wrecking Hazekillers with wild abandon.  It's probably the fact that he played the (technical) pacifist doctor for four years that has me off balance on that point, though.

Summer Glau just seems to old for Vin in my brain, I'm sure she could pull it off, but...
Still firmly on the Ellen Page Bandwagon, feel free to jump on!

Summer Glau as Vin makes me happy.  Hopefully that happens.

Also, David Tennant as Kelsier is a great choice - not one that I would have considered, though, before it was pointed out.

The only thing that would make it better than that is if Joss Whedon wrote/directed it, in which case Summer Glau would be a shoe-in, and we would also have all sorts of crazy Whedonverse actors.  Hmm... Nathan Fillion for Kelsier?  <laughs>

I don't know about you, but I'm all for Nathan Fillion for Kelsier and Summer Glau for Vin.

I love firefly a lot but i will be honest. Most of the main stars from the show have been thrown out as possible roles for Brandon's charecters and i so not think they are good choices. I hoe that most of the actors are new or really commited to the project.

That being said i do have favorite actors and i think that David Hewlett would be a good Breeze.
Ellen page is the first person mentioned that even begins to fill the role in my mind. Not that i see her as a prime candidate but she is a good idea.

i had origionally seen kelsier as christian bale but now i am unsure.

William Dafoe should be somewhere in all this.

There is one firefly charecter i could see fitting a role here.

Oooh, now that's an interesting idea! If only Liam Neeson wasn't too old to play TLR... /sigh.

I dunno... I would just always be wondering why he wasn't making out with Jewel Staite.  ; )

No, I think that's a pretty good call, actually.  I think that I'm going to read through those books again, and try to cast all the characters as Whedonverse actors.  :)  (probably not really... but it does sound kind of fun.  I'm behind on the Wheel of Time, though... and I really want to get through TGS before The Way of Kings comes out.)

What if we had Michael C. Hall as TLR?  I think that could work pretty well, too.

Physically, I like Ellen Page for Vin rather than Summer Glau.

Anyone else see Spencer Treat Clark as Elend?

I disagree with you about the Firefly actors, because I think Nathan Fillion and Summer Glau do work. Fillion has the charisma for Kelsier. Granted, he'd have to work pretty hard to also be much darker than we are used to seeing him, but there's always the first episode of Firefly, which has him darker. He can do it.

Personality-wise, i think they're both fine choices, but physically, they don't seem to fit the part if you ask me. Fillion seems a tiny bit too beefy, and summer is too filled-out/curvaceous, if you ask me. Though, this could likely be taken care of between costuming, make up, etc.
