DC just instituted a new program that fines drivers using phones in thier car if the phones arent hands free.
Its a 100 dollar fine and one point off the offenders liscence. I agree with that, as distracted people are more likely to hurt other people at 40+ mph.

What gets me steamed is the click it or ticket campagin which targets drivers who dont use seat belts. Its a 200 dollar fine and 2 points of your liscense.

so when did recklessly endangering the lives of dozens of people suddenly become less dangerous than endangering just one person...

The MP's here wanted to make the mobile ban include hands free, which goes to show that british MP's are truly retarded.
