Webcomics suitable for young audiences?

Hullo!  So, right now I'm making my living tutoring, and one of the subjects I tutor is English.  I have one child in particular I'd love to get reading more, and I think webcomics might be a good way for him to enjoy more reading.

So, my question is, does anyone know of some age-appropriate webcomics?  Some of my favorite webcomics (such as 8bit Theatre and Goblins) have content I would not want to expose a 5th grader to.

Bonus points if the language is simple, but the most important thing is content that is okay for children.  Suggestions?

Sheldon. The Abominable Charles Christopher. Kukuburi (Vet this one first; it's got some "scary" stuff that I think a 5th grader could handle, but it depends on the 5th grader).  Girl Genius (again, vet for scariness). Unshelved (Content rated G, but not sure if a 5th grader would get into it). And let's not forget The Book of Biff.

There's also classic Calvin and Hobbes, classic Foxtrot, new Foxtrot (Sunday only), and Lio.

Hope some of those work. Sheldon should, if nothing else.

Daisy Owl is a wonderful webcomic. So is Nedroid
I don't remember if Nedroid ever had swear words or stuff....I am almost certain it never did.
Calvin and Hobbes would be much easier to read in book form than online in my opinion.

I agree with all 3 of these suggestions.  I have been an avid follower of all 3 comics for years.  Sheldon is funny and often sweet.  The art and story lines of of the Abominable CC and Kukuburi are fantastic.  I would add The Dreamland Chronicles.  It has great animation and an engrossing storyline.  I let my 6 and 8 year old sons read it.

Feloxia:
Exocomics is a good one. It's light and quite creative.
