The ones under "non-canon" are conclusions that were made on the previous thread that drew some from DS and Liar.

It's OK to link the Liar chapters on the website, but you probably shouldn't quote from them. Also, there is probably too much Hoid in Way of Kings to quote in this thread.
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

Well, we wouldn't quote WoK since A: It's not out, and B: pretty much going to answer all of our questions (while creating more)

Does anyone else realize that Brandon said "Hoid is quite proficient at manipulating Shadesmar for his own ends."  I think that's beyond uber important!
"The custom of royalty in referring to oneself is to naturally employ the royal 'we'.  We are very happy, we are very sad, we are bored and suffer from ennui.  For a royal prince there's no such word as 'me', It's always 'we'.  So rightfully I should be two or three, don't you agree?"

i have personal confirmation from Brandon that Hoid is the old Terris steward in WoA. it is unconfirmed whether he broke the pottery in the Well chamber or not. all we have that might suggest that is the footprint in the deleted scene.

And assuming Hoid is in Dragonsteel, who is he? I keep going back and forth between Topaz and Frost.  Right now i'm leaning towards Frost, but Topaz is the storyteller...

There are now links to two different Liar of Partinel downloads on the first post for all of you to enjoy.

@Plasman - But Topaz isn't a Lightweaver.  I originally thought that he was Topaz too, because he is the story teller, but it would be really hard for Topaz to Lightweave that effectively.

That's true. though the fact that Hoid is a lightweaver isn't necessarily cannon.  It's just that Topaz seems to have the Hoid personality. storyteller, connected with almost all the mentioned societies in an "spy-like" way... plus there's the very end of the novel which definately suggests something that seems to be a characteristic of Hoid.
Frost seems more to be part of an in-world secret society.

I hate when i think myself into RAFO corners...

Yeah, that does generally suck.

Peter is Liar a sequel to DS or just another book in the same world?  Is it before or after DS?

Liar of Partinel occurs centuries before the events of Dragonsteel proper.

Hmm.  I just assume that if Hoid had developed the power to do the things Topaz does, he wouldn't struggle with the same things Topaz does. . . unless of course he's lying.
