What's your favorite wintertime holiday?
« on: December 06, 2009, 03:21:51 AM »

Did I miss any major ones?

I hope not.

My favorite is Kwanzaa because it was created by a professor in the 60's and is now nationally celebrated.

Almost amazing as Scientology.

Does New Year's count as a major holiday?

Like "Christmas Knight" (I like Jade better) said, is Yule any different from Christmas? I'd always thought they were one and the same.

Yule is a pegan holiday.
"The custom of royalty in referring to oneself is to naturally employ the royal 'we'.  We are very happy, we are very sad, we are bored and suffer from ennui.  For a royal prince there's no such word as 'me', It's always 'we'.  So rightfully I should be two or three, don't you agree?"

Yule is the Pagan holiday that celebrates the winter solstice.

Whereas Christmas was originally based on Yule, before it was changed, they are now very different holidays.

Bah, they're the same to me!  I mean, I'm a Christian but I light up my tree and put greenery around the house and all...
