NYT Best seller list

It'd be awesome to see Brandon at #1, but based on his latest twitter/FB post it looks like it might be hard to get past Dan Brown.  Which sales do/don't count?  I've heard from some sources that amazon sales don't count.  What about preorders?

Pretty sure Amazon does count. BYU does count (as of June). Sam Weller's does count (in fact is a major NYT bellwether for Utah). Um...I'll try to get back to you on what doesn't count.
