New York Times Bestseller!
« on: May 19, 2009, 09:09:47 PM »
I read off of Aprilynne's website that Wings hit #6 on the New York Times Bestseller List for Children's Chapter Books! Congratulations, Aprilynne! It's fantastic to hit the bestseller list, but it's even sweeter when your debut novel hits it.

Good job! :D

Thanks!

That's me just about to start reading it.  I'm actually pinching it off my daughter (such a bad mum :o) who bought it and I then realized it was one I had intended to buy myself.  After listening to the latest Writing Excuses podcast I can't wait for her to finish it, so will read it while she's at school.  I let you know what I think when I'm done, which shouldn't be too long as I'm a fast reader.

Congrats on the #1.

Well that's me just finished it and I have to say it was good.  Not my usual style but enjoyable.  I loved the characters which is a big pull for me and it had some nice conflict, always a good thing I think.  The ending was nicely done sort of open ended but still with a bit of closure, a nice little balance.  It is a nice change from my usual trilogies and epic fantasies.

I look forward to reading more of your work.
