Best Heinlien Book...*possible spoilers*

I don't know how to put up a poll so just say which one and why...

I personally love Stranger in a Strange Land because the insight to the human race...the scene with the monkey's and when Mike finally groks jokes is intense...

Stranger feels a bit dated to me.  My favorite is  The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, also dated I guess, but its still my favorite.

I like Door into Summer and Tunnel in the Sky.  It's a toss up as to which is better.

The most popular Heinlien Books, i believe to be; Stranger in a Strange Land, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, and Time Enough for Love...

I read Time Enough for Love as  young teenager and was completely hooked into Heinlein.  That book seriously blew my young mind.  Its possible that it is why I stuck with fantasy and sci-fi when every other teenage girl my age had never heard of it.  Reading LoTR as a 9-10 yr old helped too.  I was looking for something and it really resonated with me,
Now, as a 37-yr old woman I remember those feelings, but I can't really understand what I was thinking that made Heinlein my absolute favorite at that age. I missed so much, and the books are a much different experience for me now.  I still like them, but the sexual relations seem too simplistic for me now.  Free Love just doesn't work.  The politics only feels relevant when I am feeling especially cynical and libertarian (after listening to NPR for a while for example).

I like Starship Troopers and Double Star, but haven't read them in years. We were reading The Past Through Tomorrow out loud and it was quite entertaining. That was almost four years ago though and we didn't get through it before it had to go back to the library.
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

My favorite is probably Stranger in a Strange Land.  I picked up the unabridged version 1st and couldn't even finish the original version because so much had been removed.  I also like Friday, The Cat who walks through walls, and Starship Troopers.

I didn't like Stranger in a Strange Land.

But, I did like Citizen of the Galaxy and Have Spacesuit Will Travel.

Yeah Citizen of the Galaxy is my number three.  I really think he should have done a couple of more books with that setting and cast.
