Book Tours in the South West
« on: May 07, 2009, 04:29:02 PM »
This question is to Ookla or anyone in the know...What is the probability of a book signing in the Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana area within lets say the next couple of years?

Show of hands, who thinks Texas is really the Southwest?

If I have to call it the southwest to get Brandon here for a book signing then it is the southwest lol. Other wise Texas is .. well Texas it does not need to be called anything but that. Really though it owuld be great to have him come to Dallas or Houston areas...
Don't use words too big for the subject. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite.

I imagine he will for at least one of the book tours he's going on in the next few years.  There should be 3 maybe 4 if I count them right.  So you will probably be able to see him. :]

Things like Texas and Georgia are called the SouthWest because they once were the south western part of the country.

The Gathering Storm tour is likely to take Brandon places he's never toured before. But nothing's set in stone at this point.

I just put that in because it is a recurring peeve of mine when Ohio, or any other centralish state is referred to as western. Texas sort-of is, but not Oklahoma.
I would guess he will do a much bigger tour this fall since The Gathering Storm will be a much bigger book. How do you get him to come, pester your local bookstore?

West Texas is the southwest. But yeah everything east of Amarillo is South Eastern.

Ohio is the easternmost part of the Midwest. It bugs Ohioans if you call Ohio "East Coast."

It does, which is why I never miss an opportunity to remind my friends in SW Ohio that they are Easterners.

I hope he comes to Texas.  But by the time he does, I'll be at college and I doubt he'll come to Waco because there's nothing there except my college!  But Dallas is pretty close.  I could drive up there for a tour.

Eastern time zone and East Coast are two different things. :)

The Cincinnati Reds are in the NL Central Division, though they used to be in the Western division when there were just two. (Of course, so was Atlanta...and Chicago and St. Louis were in the Eastern division...)

This thread is off topic....so let me get it back by asking other than AMoL what is the likely hood of Brandon Coming to Dallas or other Major Cities in Texas's general area

At this point, less likely for any reason other than the Gathering Storm tour, and I don't even know how extensive that tour will be.
