Maybe if you'd looked at Rose's and Silk's Writing Buddies...or something...maybe...or maybe not...

I was like "what about me?"

Are you my writing buddy?  (I don't even know who is or isn't.  It's kind of sad.)

I'm pretty sure we're buddies. And I know Silk's my buddy. And I think she's yours too, but I could be wrong about that....

Well, yeah, I did look at both of them. But lord_otter? Eh, maybe Silk has a weird friend :P

I definitely wouldn't put it past her, but a weird friend that Rose also has? Unlikely....:P

I just signed up. I couldn't get frog, so it is "the frog," just to be confusing.

Considering the company I keep - online AND off - I think it's fairly safe to say I ONLY have weird friends...

I won't get warts if I friend 'the frog,' will I?

:)

Oh well, added...  Also considered removing Silk for a moment, but decided it was too much trouble. ;)

Don't you know?  We're all weird -- we want to be fantasy authors.  That doesn't exactly make us fit in with the rest of society.

On a nano related note, is anyone else excited that createspace is doing the same deal as last year?

Totally!  I'm just a little worried.  Any reason why we shouldn't accept that?  Would it cause problems if we decided to send our novel elsewhere to get published?  I know they do a PoD type of thing, so I was worried that by sending them our novel, they would get some rights about future publishing.

Obviously, I haven't read the site yet, but those are the worries that first pop in my head.

I ended up taking too long and wasn't able to get mine (ask silk for confermation) but basically you submit the info, they send you one copy of the novel and then ask you if you want to sell it on their website.  As long as you say no, it shouldn't show up as a published work.  (Right?  Can someone in the industry confirm this?)

I was kicking around the KiddoWriMo site (that should totally be its name for the elementary school age group, btw), and saw this awesome page. The HS level workbook looks like it might actually be useful. I downloaded it and am looking through it as we speak. Not bad. Pretty basic, but some sections look helpful. They're worth a look, anyway.
