No. In fact, you do not. Very astute observation.

I'm getting fed up waiting for my copy of Alcatraz to arrive from America.  This sucks, I'm resigned to doing rereads again.  I NEED a new book. >:(

I suppose I should be grateful that I have so many great books that rereads aren't that bad but still I so wish it would hurry up.

Smashed my back on our deck yesterday. Woke up this morning and…it hurts. Badly.

Is the play still running, i.e. are you going to have to sing and dance like that.?

My computer is having serious problems. It won't start up all the way, and the drive won't mount in order for disk utility to try to repair it. Also the wireless stopped working right before the disk crapped out.

(Posting on backup computer.)

Ooh, ouch. I hope you have backups. If you don't, then after this I hope you start. With Time Machine it's so easy. (I'm assuming you have a Mac due to the mention of Disk Utility.)

I've been through a hard drive crash without backups. Fortunately, I caught the early signs (grinding noise coming from the the bearing, everything on the computer requiring disk access running unbearably slowly) and was able to back everything up before it went kaput. Nevertheless, the experience awakened me to the mortality of hard disks, and I now faithfully keep daily backups.

Pretty sure I left my trombone at Seaton when we were rehearsing last week. Pretty sure, but ever since I went looking for the 'bone to find it not where I thought it was I've been having flashbacks to when my guitar was stolen. And the band room at Seaton is locked, so I won't be able to check it's there until tomorrow morning.

As it is, I had to borrow one of VSS's trombones for the rehearsal tonight, the instrument I was using isn't as good as mine and I had an ill fitting mouthpiece that tasted funny.

My backups are, unfortunately, about a year old. But I think DiskWarrior has saved my bacon. Again. I've only had to use it three times in my life, but that is one program absolutely worth paying for.

I do want to start using Time Machine, maybe when I replace my router.

Silk, let me just say, "EW!" and comf.

Hope the horn is in the room you think.

Ookla, is the cmos fried?  What kind of PC is it?

Next time I have to play a borrowed instrument, I'm investing in mouthwash.

I found the trombone, it was exactly where I left it. (Though it amazes me that I left an instrument behind at all.)

GRRRR

I just got two emails from the SAME guy in India telling me that they really want me to outsource my software development with them!  Okay that's a problem, been dodging this guy for 5 years.  But this time "he's going to be in my area" and the two emails are 2 minutes apart and the second one had a confirmation response tag in the header.

Does he not get the hint?

I'd suggest that you try to be less polite, but you probably shouldn't listen to me if I do. ::)

Took my one and only midterm today. All in all I don't think I did terribly, but it was a timed test and I lost 7 points because I didn't have time for two questions.

I hate timed tests!  >:( It's not that I didn't study - I did. It's just that CS Theory is pretty much my weakest subject ever, and I need time to work through these problems. I can do it - it just takes time.

Grr. I signed up for this racket to write code, not muck about with abstract state machines and regular expressions (not the grep type, which ironically can't be expressed with regular expressions).

Dude that's the fun stuff.  Next you'll be telling me you don't want to design a virtual machine and assembler.
