Supid...Papers
« on: November 22, 2004, 03:22:40 PM »
No NaNo for me today.  Or, at least, not for a few hours more.  I have to grade rhetorical analysis papers.

20 papers.  One brain.  Ug.

If only you had more than one brain. Or even, perhaps, enough of one to spell "stupid" correctly. Now that's irony.

Also: wasn't it you, EUOL, who asked the students to write these papers?  You ought to take a more liberal approach to education, and just have the students think about writing, or maybe just discuss what they would have written, had they actually done so.
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier.

That's one good thing about my school having a really sucky TA program. No papers to grade.

Only 20 papers? I fail to see how this is a huge problem. Sure this takes time, but many English teachers grade many more papers on a regular basis.
You could take the hack teacher approach: just read the first paragrapg and the first sentence of each paragraph, then give an it arbitrary grade.

And I agree with HoM, if you didn't want to grade papers during NaNoWriMo, then you shouldn't have made the papers due during NaNoWriMo.

I stand by my spelling.

Fortunately, the supid papers are done.  And folks, this is the rants section.  You don't slap a brotha' down for complaining about things here!

And no...I could not have gotten away with having NO papers due during November.  Doesn't quite work that way when you don't choose your own curriculum.

Sorry, I guess many of us just DON'T feel your pain.

And can we at least mock you for using the word "brotha'" when you are a very white suburban boy?

I don't know, the mental image of EUOL saying "brotha" may just keep my laughing for the rest of the day.

I don't think I can mock him for providing humor.

Is "supid" a combination of "stupid" and "supine"?
