ha... in Seattle, there is a group of people that go around dressed like Santa, getting drunk and singing songs like "It's the most wonderful time for a beer" every holiday season

And the fact that Christ wasn't born on the 25th kind of makes limiting the celebrations to that day kind of moot :)

True. But even besides the fact that leaving your Christmas lights on nearly year round is a tremendous waste of energy, it's pretty god damn annoying, too.

Sometimes we can be pretty mean here.  It's not because we're trying to offend, but simply because we've discovered that being mean (to a limited extent) is actually really effective at keeping the forum healthy.  The FAQ even mentions that if you aren't willing to abide by certain expectations, you can expect to be taunted mercilessly.  Unfortunately, most of the mean mods (such as Skar and SE) aren't as active on this forum as they used to be, and so some of the rest of us have to step up to the plate.

It's not as much mean as inconsiderate. I think there's a difference. And since being inconsiderate isn't mentioned in the FAQ, perhaps you should consider trying to be more considerate.
