HOA book of the year?
« on: December 05, 2008, 07:44:22 PM »
I don't mean to start a new thread just about this, but look at me.

Am I just not reading enough or is this the book of the year?

I would think it has a good chance at book of the year. At least for me it does. I don't know if the rest of the reading society would agree but it did make the bestsellers list so Im sure you will have some good support from this forum.

Definitely the place of people who are much more likely to see your point =).

If it was put up to a vote for best book of the year I'd vote on it.

Book it, done.

I'd vote for it, too...It's a flippin' sweet book.

I just hope Breaking Dawn doesn't take Book of the Year. That thing's written on the level of fanfiction.....

I haven't read HoA but I am sure i will have great love for it =). But if the empty Clamato shelf at the supermarket is any indication of anything, I am sure Breaking Dawn will be doing something very dumb.

It was a fantastic book. Probably one of the best contemporary books I've read....And I know Breaking Dawn is popular. That's what makes me fear for the title. It would be sad if a book like Breaking Dawn, which sets in stone the Mary-Sue status of the protagonist, took Book of the Year over an epic book like HoA....HoA is much more deserving (personal opinion).

I'd go as far as to say it deserves "Fantasy Book of the Year."  The problem with fantasy books is the majority of the general populace would prefer to read about fads, like crash dieting and Breaking Dawn, if they read at all.  That's why it's our job to convert the general populace, yes?
