Out of the Ones LISTED, I'd have to go with "the Wall"

I love Zeppelin (especially that particular album) but the Wall provides a lot MORE music :D

Though, I think Dark Side of the Moon beats the Wall by a hair.

This was actually an article we published a long time ago:

http://www.timewastersguide.com/article/777/Staff-Picks-0007

I would have to amend my response only in that I'd say "In Rio" over "Different Stages", for the exact same reasons, only more so.

Old school is Great but,

Peal Jam-  Ten

Stone Temple Pilots-  Core

Soundgarden-  Superunknown

Though they could actually be considered old school now, I guess. :-[

It was hard to make a poll of rock albums without there being a bazillion choices lol, so I just listed a few that I personally consider to be some of the best. Again, mileage may vary.  :)

As long as we stick to a decade, I think the debate can be pretty contained for the most part. I picked the Wall just because of how unique of an album it is. So much going on for just about an hour of music.

Also, I was not expecting that of Fell...I understand German so kind of confused...

See, I have all of those, and I love them dearly (they are the bands of my youth), but I don't know if each CD holds together as a cohesive whole like the ones listed. There is something to be said for an album that is produced like it is one large thing, not a compilation of "a bunch of songs that we happened to be working on at the time". In that way, the album as a whole becomes a work of art, much like a Beethoven symphony. It is broken into movements which can stand on their own, but put together are more than the sum of their parts. :)

going with the "whole album" concept, there are many more. Who -Quaraphenia, Metallica - Ride the Lightning, Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime, Styx - Kilroy was Here

And those are just "theme albums", and I am sure there are many more which could get on the list.

Although Metallica is one of my favorite bands of all time, I would have to go with Operation Mindcrime, such a brilliant album.

Not the monkeys Ehlers, not the monkeys!

For me, I would have to choose Other, and write in Dark Side of the Moon. I prefer it to The Wall, although, The Wall is a masterpiece in it's own right in my opinion.

The Wall vs. Dark side is always a huge debate. Personally I really can't choose one or the other to be better, but i do enjoy the Wall a tad bit more. Plus the movie is just insane.

Although syncing Dark Side to Wizard of Oz is a hoot.

The first time I did this I was completed impressed at how well it worked.
