I cannot stand Ramen. Abhor it. Grew up with real pasta and just cannot do it.

 :o

I grew up with real pasta too, but I still love me my Ramen. Whether it be cup ramen or the packaged, it's all yummy and good to me.  :)

When you have family members who sometimes make their own noodles, pre-made Barilla and De Cecho is about as ramen as I can go.

My dad and I made noodles from scratch once. Was a pretty messy, but otherwise fun experience.  :D

If you're always hungry, that should be more incentive to, you know, eat your hat.

Okay, okay, i get it.

I might go back home for thanksgiving, or i might work, but if i do go back home...

then you shall see something amazing, or disgusting. Or it could start off as amazing then turn out to be distugsting, or tragic. either way, you'll remember this thanksgiving.

i'm on it.
"I love you."
"you dont. You just think you do because i'm all you know."
"Really? So whats this burning sensation i'm having in my stomach?"
"Too much ale."
"Not love?"
"No. But i can see how you confused the two."
"I don't feel good."
"They do that to you."
"my legs, their numb."
"Hahaha!"
"haha!"

Oh that is exciting news. I would love to see the feast of the hat. Also ramen is so great because of how quick it is and how many ways you can make it.

CranberryCthulhu I work for Securitas out of Quincy. I'm going to have to check your company out and see whats happening there.

That is great. I think everyone should have an experience like that at least once.

So my work keeps putting forth these "initiatives." Their newest idea in how to make sure we aren't needlesly spending money makes me very unhappy. Let break down the list of how the thing came to me:

- To be full time, your employees must work 40 hours.
- We will no longer authorize overtime. Any unauthorized overtime will result in a write-up to the Manager.
- Mangers must have at least two employees under them to have that title.
(I only have one employee)
- Until further notice, we will not be authorizing any new hirings.
- All Managers must use all of their remaining Vacation Time

Somehow the math doesn't seem to work.

It's called Corporate Math.  It's how the executives maintain their promises to shareholders without having to decrease their own compensation packages.

And I completely understand why people here are likening Ramen to eating a hat.  Anything edible that maintains the shape of the package it was in must be carefully regarded before consuming.
I wanted to write something profound here, but I couldn't think of anything.

My children all love to eat ramen straight from the package. It not only grosses their mother out, but it leaves little shards of ramen all over the house.
And the thing I hate most about my job, Mom, is that I get no days off when I feel cruddy :P.  I would very much like a couple of vacation days.

Ah I knew you had a weakness. Im sure you deserve a couple of days off. Find a good friend or family member to pawn them off on and don't even go out just stay at home for a couple of days relaxing.

For the record, Ramen is not pasta.  It does not attempt to be pasta.  It is not analogous to Pasta.  It's not even Italian!  Ramen is a Japanese quick-eat brand of "noodle soup", which is a very popular Asian quick meal (homemade or store bought).  Speaking from experience, though, there are some flavors of Ramen which aren't much worse than homemade Chinese noodle soup…  especially if you add your own veggies.

Therefore... don't compare Ramen to pasta.

Uh, but if I stay at home to relax the dishes and the laundry and everything else stare at me and make me feel guilty.  A true vacation would involve no urges to do housework, cook or any of that stuff.  Though I guess everyone else would like that kind of vacation as well.

Wow, amazing how quickly a conversation can devolve into a discussion of ramen.  rofl.  You people.

I'm a grad student, and right now the part that I hate about it is that everyone has pretty much cut me off.  Department stopped paying my tuition, everyone acts like they want to be rid of me now, even my advisor has pretty much stuffed me into a corner and for all intents and purposes given up on me.  It sucks.  On top of that, my project involves programming, which can be really rewarding at times, just not those ones when I have to end up searching for two weeks to find that I've put a semi-colon in the wrong place.  Wish I would have been able to learn a little more about programming before jumping into this mess.

I just need my writing career to take off.  That'd sure make things easier.

Seems like a trend in this forum to take a very complex discussion and filter it into something completely random and arbitrary. Of any larger current trends in this I will admit to being at fault for.

You know it happens and most of us can be blamed for it from time to time. the idea is that once someone goes back to topic the thread can right itself. I plan on writing about why I hate some of my other jobs in the near future so others can enjoy their lives a little more.
