Exactly.  Just remember that Dec. is the time for revision, so for now just write.  Good luck to one and all!

Edit:  Now at 605 words and counting.  Slowly but surely, or whatever.

Big writing chunk! 2466 words! If I can do that every time I write, then I can afford to miss a day now and then. 8)

Yes I do need prodding. I'm at 7,048 words at the moment.

3341 total so far

Doing the everyday goal is hard. I usually only write 2 days of about 3k words every week. I can already tell this is going to be a challenge (/cries)

1737 as of the first day. Though it's 1:40 pm and I still haven't started Day 2's writing yet.

I'm usually the guy that hits 9k after day 2 and then slows down because school takes over...

I had all weekend and I only got 900.  And school still threatens (oh boy, does it... my last year at college, the papers are trying to eat my soul...)

So my question is this: Do we actually have to finish the book, or just get to that 50k marker?

Also: current count (working on today's work currently) around 900.

No.  You don't have to finish, the goal is 50k by Nov. 30th.  If your not done with your novel (but hit the word count goal) its up to you if you want to continue on with it ,or not.

Hit 4,800.  Now I can go to bed.

At 4102 now after the 2nd day. I'm kind of surprised how easy the 1667 a day has been so far. Maybe once we're out of the weekend it will be a lot harder.

I'm doing this for the first time. So far I've made the daily word count, but the nanowrimo site hates me and won't let me update my wordcount in it.  Drat.
If I had any clue, would I be here?

Ya, Sigyn, I'm not even bothering with that. I don't want to use it. But then, technically, I'm not following the rules. I started a story already, with about 20k words, and am working on that, keeping track of the words I've been writing since Nov. 1. I'm to 5600. So, by the time the month is over, I should have about 70k words in my novel, which is not too far from finishing length. Which means I would have written it in two months. Woooo. Then will come the edits (sigh)

I'm at 4072, doing 2000 a day and getting a couple of days off.  It's not all that hard, so long as you have a good plan and don't care about stupidity.  Heck, I'm still developing my main char's personality as I write it, so when I revise there will be good prose had by all.
