I see…maybe (I don't know if this is possible; I'm not an artist, unfortunately  :-\ ) you could make the…opposite of indentations on the biceps so it looks like there's something under the robe…? Just a thought.

Ok, so I went and found the annotation that talks about the physical consequences of Sazed's castration. Thank goodness for Google site search.

That, at least, I can do. :)

Sooo... huh. So the long arms and excessive height is a result of his castration, not the Terris being genetically different than nobles or skaa?

But seeing  as almost all the Terrismen were eunuchs, it's kind of the same thing, in effect.

But a Terriswoman wouldn't be taller, or have extended arms. Nor would a non-castrated Terrisman.

So the "Terris people" is a term for an ethnic group, I guess.  I don't know how I went three books without realizing that, I was generally under the impression that the Terris weren't "human", at least not baseline human.

So that's interesting... then Feruchemy isn't restricted only to Terrismen, then. I thought it was something only the Terris could do because they were fundamentally different from humans somehow.

Yeah, they are just an ethnic group—the only ethnic group left in the hemisphere that's distinct from the nobles and the skaa. I'm surprised you didn't see that earlier.

Right. I was thinking more for your drawing of Sazed.

Well, that's why I check with the group here.  I love designing this stuff, but it's important to me to stay with the communal text, because that's what drives all our interpretations of the material.

Mistwraiths

From pgs 152-153:

"...perhaps ten feet tall and twice as long"
"The creature has smoky, translucent skin, and Vin could see it's bones. It had dozens upon dozens of limbs, and each one looked as if it had come from a different animal. There were human hands, bovine hooves, canine haunches, and others she couldn't identify."
"Many of the limbs, in fact, didn't even look functional -they jutted out from the creature's flesh in a twisted, unnatural fashion."
"It wasn't just a blob, though... there was a strange logic to it's form. It had a distinct skeletal structure and [...] she thought she could make out translucent muscles and sinew wrapping the bones."
"And heads -she counted siz. Desipite the translucent skin, she could make out a horse head sitting beside that of a deer. Another head turned towards here, and she could see its human skull. The head sat upon a long spinal column attached to some kind of animal torso, which was in turn attached to a jumble of bones."

Okay, so in retrospect, I think I could make the body a bit longer and even lift it off the ground some. I might have overemphasized the chaotic aspect over the logical assembly. So I'll probably tackle this again at some point. Any suggestions?

I like the horse. And the human, which looks like one of the mutants from I Am Legend.  :P

I agree. I think you need more of the cohesive whole that was hinted at in the passage from the book…I would think moving would be a subject of much difficulty with that creature.

I also agree with lifting it off the ground—too much blobbiness.

I noticed you have a wing there, but I'm not sure there are any birds at all on Scadrial. We never see any. The only times birds are mentioned it's part of a metaphor (stooped like a hawk, etc.).

Also a mistwraith wouldn't be able to change the size of the limbs it integrated. Your image implies that this world has giant insects.

I'm gonna be honest. I thin, the chaos thing is a little too much. Don't get me wrong, because I still love your artwork, I just think the mistwraith should be tuned down a little. Also, Inkthinker, what is your name so i can credit you when i post your work on my fan page. danke danke
