I really like that one a lot, but I always mentally associate Preservation with the color white. Mist-Vin is a bit too dark in my opinion.

Actually that passage reads that Vin was white above Elend but Ruin was Dark in the area. He might be dipicting that. The one factuall error i see is that no Inquisitors (with the exception of Marsh) were there during the fight. However, givin the epic of the painting i think we can let that slide.

lol! Yah, I was painting based purely on my emotional reaction to the scene, and from memory, so some accuracies did slide.

Thanks for compliments guys.

This is the background for my laptop now. i really like it. It is my favorite piece that i have seen to date.

Mine as well.  It's too pretty to not look at every time I see my desktop.

I kinda want to get it put on one of those big canvasy things and get it hung in my living room.

That is a fantastic idea. I wants one. (also super long quote thread)

I looked through the entire thread and I have to say I'm really impressed with all the fan art!! Well done, everyone!

I noticed though that it's mainly Mistborn fanart... I would love to see more Elantris/Warbreaker/Alcatraz stuff too... But oh well! I wish I could make pictures as cool as some!

I think Mistborn lends itself most easily to illustrating cool imagery, though Warbreaker has it's awesome moments.

But don't worry, The Way of Kings will pass 'em all. It's even better than Mistborn as a source of interesting and fun stuff to draw.

This is all really cool stuff - I'm gonna try to post some fan art when I get the ol' scanner up and running.

As soon as I can figure out how to post the picture I made, I will.

Edit: here you go. The mist didn't translate well through the scanner, but you get the idea.... maybe.

You can adjust the exposure settings in the scanner software to get good results with subtle grayscales; the automatic algorithm doesn't always do what you want it to.

It's not exactly Art, but I figure it fits under the same category.

It's a fan trailer for a Mistborn movie that was on Brandon's Page.

That one spends too much time with just mist on the screen. I like the animated one better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0EAyGoHbHI
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

I just finished the Mistborn trilogy (and Warbreaker), so I felt compelled to make a new cover for the books. There are still a few small things I would like to do, but I think they are mostly done. Let me know what you think, and if there is anything else I should do/fix.

oh i like that, very minimalistic, yet still convoys the thought that each book covers one of the Three Arts.  also a subtle nod to how bad the book gets at the end, Book 3: There will be Blood.

That would be really cool art for like a paperback or an ebook.

For the past several years most of my drawing has been limited to design sketches, but today I drew Vin and I thought my sketch was worth inking ... you may disagree, I suppose. I had planned to do this digitally but I couldn't find the pen for my tablet, so it was done with ink and watered-down acrylic, I may try a digital version eventually, probably with color.

The background's very ... splotchy. Which was kind of the goal, but it didn't come out quite like I wanted. Ah well.
