Rifftrax is a no-go---but we're still having a party
« on: May 22, 2007, 09:52:13 PM »
I'm thinking we should do it mid-June, when Chimera will be in town, so the date right now isn't set in stone. I would be happy to host it again.

Now that the weather is better we should do a little BBQ. We have a good-sized yard/patio, so we can eat outside. I'm thinking everyone bring their own meat, and then if you're coming, RSVP to me (or here) and we can get food assignments out, like chips/drinks/side dishes, whatever. I can provide plates/cups/eating utinsels.

Word. I'll be there with whatever food assignment you want to give me.

I think some people might have objections with The Matrix, unless you have a clean version (which would mess with the syncing).

I want to come. My schedule is a little hectic right now, but if it is on a Friday or Saturday, it's more likely I will be able to come.

My June is not looking good.  But I don't really like Riftrax anyway.

Then you're a goober.

Mid-June works great for me. I'll have to think pretty hard about what I want to watch, though.

I'd like to point out, since we have so many new people as well as people that have never come to one of these, that this part is open to any TWGer not just staff and those that occasionally write articles.

Fine with me! There's enough room to squeeze everyone in the basement for the movie, and I have a large yard.

Hrm. Maybe I should get a few lawn games to play...

To give you another possible option, Nessa, if we wait til late enough, we might able to get a projector and show the movie outdoors.  This will depend somewhat on how your neighbors would feel about it, lighting in the area, etc., but its something we (Tage, Euol and I) did a few times at one of our houses.

The main reason we're doing it mid-June is because Chimera will be in town. However, Micah, that's a fun idea and should be something we can do later in the summer, like August. There's always a reason for another rifftrax party...

We have a projector, by the way. We just have to unmount it from the ceiling.

It lookes like the dates will potentially be June 14, 15, or 16. What's best for everyone?

Also, Mark will not be home those nights, so I FOR SURE need Sprig to burn a ready-made DVD for me or bring an MP3 player because Mark won't be there to help.

LOL. No, he likes the parties, but he has to work the night of the 14th, and will be out of town that weekend and in St. George to run a triathalon for the Utah Summer Games.

Sounds like fun! I'll be there.  If you don't mind, I'll probably pack up the Nintendo to keep my boys busy like last time.
