I read your article and note no one has taken it upon themselves to discuss it with you. I am curious though if you have read any or all of her other books. The only one of hers I have not finished is the recent one "The Margarets" and I could not finish that one because I was *infuriated* that the synopsis on the dust jacket SPOILS THE ENTIRE STORY.

Note to publishers. Don't put spoilers on your freaking dust jackets.

Also Nessa, I'm ashamed to say I can't remember who you are in real life or if I've met you. *sigh*   I have really  enjoyed pondering some of her views on utopia as you say, especially as put forth in say, The Companions, where I'm all about a utopia that involves dogs.  The Companions also had some very good points to make on (in my interpretation) sex and chastity and marriage and negative views on porn, and how all these things affect humans.

Vanessa was the editor when I started in the summer of 1998. When did you first show up, Megan?

I've taken to not reading jacket copy at all if I've had a book recommended to me. I also was very careful about spoilers when I was writing jacket copy and next volume previews, you can be sure of that!
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

I would have showed up end of 2000 beginning of 2001, whenever Skar and I had that Spanish class together and he told me about it.
