Jam rants about his place of living
« on: March 28, 2005, 09:16:40 AM »
Here is what is wrong with my place of living:

*The rent is 30$ more than the 50$ I was paying at my last place, and that included meals.

*The Internet is 20$ a month, which is more than the free I was paying. Plus, it's slower. And it's "Unlimited' but not really since it might get restricted to 2 gig a month.

*The place is an old building and falling apart.

*My lock is difficult to use.

*It's a fifteen minute walk to the train station.

*I have to catch a train which means standing during peak hour.

*People leave the hallway lights on at night, meaning I can't sleep, because light comes in through my door frame.

*My room needs a vacuum and I don't have one. I think there might be a shared one, but that means leaving the room.

*I have to pay to use the washing machine and dryer.

*Idiots stole my washing powder cos I didn't keep it in my room.

*Idiots left underwear in the dryer so I couldn't use it. I'm not touching it.

*My neighbours are idiots.

*My neighbours play loud and bad rap music at all hours; see above.

*The girlish one always tries to talk to me, and I've seen rocks with more personality. I think she broke the rules and had a guy sleep in her room lats night, and I think they had sex, simply to spite me cos I'm not getting any. See "idiots" above.

*He looked like a moron, and she was wearing pajamas.

*The kitchen is horirble and disgusting and dirty, and everyone but me ignores the signs saying clean your own stuff up. The floor is sticky and visibly dirty.

*I have to share a toilet and shower; see idiots, above.

*I was going to move in with a friend of mine and his friend, and create a nerd house. His house was cheaper than this place, a whole house, not just a room, and we would have gaming going, and it's closer to uni than here. His roommates were moving out, and we organised this. At the last minute, they decided not to move out. We spent a week looking for another place to move to, failed, and so he kept staying were he was and I got this place. Then, they decide to ACTUALLY move out, and both of my friends move in together in a nerd house, invite me, only now I'm locked into a contract. They'd want a third person before my contract expires, too.

wait, you pay $80 a month for rent? That's it? And that AUD, which is like, $40 in real money, right? Man, I'd expect that to be a dump. I've paid 3 times that for rent for half a bedroom in a dump.

Yeah, I feel for ya, man, but I've never had rent so cheap. And I especially don't feel for ya now, when my rent is probably more than you live on, total.

Yeah, per week. And you probably do spend more on rent than I spend in total, though my food costs are probably double my rent. I'm incapable of cooking and only eat fast food.

aaaah,... well, per week, that's a little different.
Buy a lot of ramen. Throw frozen peas in when you boil. that'll keep you from dying on a minimal budget.

As for the filthy conditions, there's got to be some sort of appeal that can be made. Like, you should be able to get out of your contract if living conditions are too filthy for living. Look into it at least.

It's not really FILTHY, just a little dirty. I'm exaggerating.

I am living off ramen since it's the only thing I can cook.  The ones I get come with dehydrated peas that taste disgusting. I should really get some Miso instead.

frozen foods. I swear by hotpockets myself. Perhaps they don't sell those there, though.

Two words JP. Hamburger Helper. Easiest stuff to make. I think Tage tried to introduce me to Tuna Helper as well. I'm sorry to say I'm happy that I avoided that somehow. God luck, and good speed.

Stop buying fast food and use the money saved to go live with your friends.

Score!
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

Basically Entropy wants you to starve and see you get skinnier. Which of course begs the opinion that you can use a moustache.

Judging by his picture, he already has one. Maybe he can eat it?

I have a mustache. It doens't hurt me, it's my best friend.

If I lose any more weight I will die. Doctor's have suggestd this in no uncertain terms.
