EUOL vs. Scalzi
« on: March 20, 2007, 04:30:13 PM »
So, EUOL has chopped up watermelon with a sword.  But has he ever done this?

If I had any clue, would I be here?

Brilliant!! I am sure the watermelon was too, but having not seen that particular picture I really have no basis for comparison, sorry. But, I love the CatBacon :)

For one disastrous moment there, I thought you were speaking of a new type of breakfast meat. Catbacon, eww!

But I found that Whatever blog to be hilarious. hahaha. Ahh, now I can survive the rest of the day.

Of course, I do hope the authorities follow up with Scalzi. Wasting bacon is a felony of the highest order.

Well, he says he didn't let the cat eat it but I'm pretty darn sure that you *can't* get cat hair off of something once the confounded hairs entrench themselves in whatever it may be. So if Scalzi did consume said post-cat bacon, I think he might soon be dealing with a hair ball or two whilst he is working on his book. I hear this problem is a common one among crazy authors....

Speaking of cat + bacon, and tying this to the SFWA presidency run, take a look at what Theo Black designed for Scalzi's presidency run. Take a look in particular at the third picture's flag.

This is so last year.

I've been regularly reading The Whatever since after Worldcon.

I have too, actually. Though the LJ feed doesn't always come through, so I apparently have missed a number of posts. However, the cat/bacon flag is so today. ;)

Well, that is true!

The smear video from a couple days ago is hilarious.

Ironically, I think I like reading Scalzi's blog quite a bit more than his actual books. After finishing Old Man's War, I am not really moved to read the sequels.

On Scalzi's blog, you get Scalzi's personality, and it's fun to read. In Scalzi's books, you get...Scalzi's personality, coming from every single character (except the ones you're supposed to detest), and it's distracting.

I read the Ghost Brigades and enjoyed it slightly more than Old Man's War, and will probably read his other books too, but for me, they're not hardback buys.
