TWG on CoH/CoV
« on: May 16, 2007, 09:15:26 AM »
So because of the new update I got back into City of Villains.  I really like all the changes that have been made to the game (including the physics engine, being in a group with someone with wind power is really cool now).  The new crafting system really shines, even though there are now drops in the game it's not something like WoW or other MMOs where thats all you care about while still making killing stuff for loot cool.  Especially when you get something cool like Dragonwings that I got the other day.  Also crafting is expensive, but not so much so that you can't do it, which is good because now you have something to spend your money on outside of costume changes.

I'm mostly on CoV with my Stalker because I still find City of Heros to be a lot more bland and my Tanker is only fun in groups since he can't solo.  I might even start back up the CoH blog of Fell's for yor but make it in character, though I'd probably want to code a new system since I hated the old one.

CoV:

Shadow Scorpio (also my global chat handle) level 26 Stalker

CoH

Blaze Scorpio, level 14 Tanker

He says he got back in because of the new update, which is only partly true: he got back in because I got back in and told him how the new update was awesome. The dirty liar.

So yes, I've been playing UXB again for about a week now, and it's mucho awesome. The new loot and crafting are lots of fun, and levelling is much easier/faster now. I was considering an in-character blog as well, showing the two sides: UXB the hero, and XB2 the villain--an evil, goth version of UXB, created by the government in an attempt to recreate the freak experiment that gave UXB her powers. She's awesome.

We need to get SE in on this with us.

I was thinking of creating a more traditional blog for this, just implemeting brandon's blog system, and if we have three of us that would be really cool.  Then do this as a group of Villians blogging about their life or something (and possibly mirror it on Blogspot), could be really funny if done right.

So the blog should be up and ready Monday, so I'd start deciding what to do now if you haven't allready.

One thing if we're all using the same blog we'll need to come up with a name that we all like.

It's not letting me add you Fell, you might want to check that name.  Though it may require you being online to be added.

Sprig and I ran through a mission last night, and even though it wasn't very late I could not stay awake to save my life. It was kind of funny--I'd start a fight I was way too weak to finish, get my butt kicked, and fall asleep while Sprig desperately tried to keep us both alive.

So just for fun I tried grouping with a full team with my stalker and man it sucked, mostly because villains don't have good tanks (I was the best because of my demonic power but that's only once every 25 min) and they weren't a very well coordinated group.  Plus I couldn't use my stealth much because of all the AOE attacks and that there were too much movement so I couldn't use my one-shot kill power.  Think I died 4-5 times today just because of them pulling more then they could handle and everyone running around doing their own thing.

Kind of funny that villain based teams tend to be less organized then hero teams just because of the powersets, which I guess is how they are in the comic (energized that is).  Heros have lots of sucky solo classes that work well in teams and villians are the opposite.

I spent quite a while playing yesterday, and even did the Terra Volta mission. Expect a blog soon.

My Stalker is 30, defender is 20 and controller is 14.

UXB us 25-26 I think and UB2 is around 8-10.

That's going to change very quickly this weekend since it's double XP.
