Mistborn - Nota bene, Sui generis!
« on: January 23, 2007, 12:00:45 AM »
I finished Mistborn last week and I wanted to say that it was nota bene (latin, to call attention to something important) and sui generis (latin, literally, of its own kind, a class alone, unique).

I have not been this dysphoric about completing a book in a long time. I was distressed because once it was over, I could no longer roam through the pages of the Final Empire. The pain in waiting for August to come!

In all seriousness, excellent book. Thoroughly enjoyable and worth every penny. Unique, fresh, and immersing. Brandon rightfully deserves his place with Tor and recognition as a professional author. Each novel he creates is a singular, strategic strike against the influx of penned mediocrity in today's fantasy fiction genre.

I did not think Elantris could be equalled; I was glad to be wrong.

Thank you Brandon for your gifts of writing.
