Seattle signing February 10
« on: February 02, 2006, 02:10:12 PM »
I don't know how large a Seattle contingent there is here on TWG, but in case you're interested...

I'll be doing a reading and signing at the University Book Store, 4326 University Way NE, Seattle, WA 98105.

But it's not just me.  Three other winners from WOTF XXI will be there, plus John W. Campbell Award (Not a Hugo) winner Jay Lake.

The details from the bookstore website:

Reading & Book Signing
University District Store
Join us for an evening of creatively told stories from some of the best new talent in science fiction, fantasy and horror writing as chosen by top writers and illustrators in these fields.

Uh--HELLO! Seattle contingent right here!

This is next Saturday, right? I'll be there.

EDIT--Oh. Friday. Well then. I'll still be there.

(Oh, and Egg_Fu is in the Seattle area. Dunno if he'll read this, but you might be able to get him to go.)

Of course I knew you were in Seattle.  I just didn't know whether anyone else was.

I appreciate the support.

Oh, so that's where you went! I was so busy trying to find my car that I forgot to ask.

Soooo, how did it go?

The panel discussion part went well, especially since Jay Lake was there to be a moderator/leader.  There were some very good questions from the audience.  That took up most of the time.

As far as the signing part itself, there wasn't all that much to do.  I signed a couple of books, and that was it.

The real highlight of the event was actually before the event, when Ken, David, Jay and I had dinner with a few other people.  It's fun to sit around with other people in the genre and talk about writing.

Uh, sorry, I forgot about it completely. I had it on my Outlook at work, but I was at home sick, so I didn't get the reminder that I set up. But I'll be down for LTUE, so I'll say hi then. It's just as well--I'm sure you wouldn't have wanted my germs anyway.
