My husband one time, while searching through all the DVD extra's, asked me who on earth would waste there time watching an entire movie with people talking over it.

In a little voice I said, "Me."

Sometimes we just don't understand each other.  ;)

I'll look for that.

Vin: Summer Glau....definite lock
Lord Ruler: Liam Neeson
Kelsier: Robert Downey Jr. or Nicolas Cage...Cage because he can be dark and off-center sense of humor
Elend: Shia Lebouf
Breeze: Adrian Paul
Ham:  LL Cool J...would like good in outfit...I would say Vin Diesel, but can't image Vin waxing philosophical and believeing, plus his name is Vin...
Sazed: Alexander Siddig ( Dr. Julian Brashir deep space nine)
Spook: Aaron Ashmore
Club: Samuel L. Jackson or Tommy Lee Jones
Dockson: James Thomas Byrnes....also of Highlander fame..watcher Joe Dawson
Marsh: Ewan McGregor or Russel Crowe

For some reason, that gave me visions of the Bakshi Lord of the Rings.
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

I could get behind a Mistborn animated series... and get Billy West (half the cast of Futurama) to do Kell, Ham, Marsh, The Lord Ruler, Elend...

John DiMaggio as Breeze, especially with the Bender whistle while someone fills his drink.

Anyway, Western Cast
Vin: Summer Glau or Vesper Lynd
Kelsier: Always read him in my mind with Daniel Craig's voice, and I think it would fit.(unless Vesper Lynd was Vin, since that's throw everything off in regards to father figure instead of love interest)
Breeze: any suggestion I have for him would likely reduce his role to strictly comedy relief, but Jason Alexander or William Shatner.
Sazed: Originally I was considering a typecast of Leonard Nimoy, but then I realized that Morgan Freeman fits so well. Though we do all know that Patrick Stewart looks good bald.
Shan Elariel: Katherine Heigl

Morgan Freeman is a good call
Shatner might make a good Breeze, but maybe a better Dockson
Chris Rock for Breeze.
Katherine Heigl dead on!
Maybe Keanu for the Lorder Rule or Marsh
Viggio could be Kelsier, those eyes will make anyone a follower male or female!
Orlando Bloom as Elend!!!
Can you really imagine Jean-Luc a god??? LoL...I guess he'd actually be able to 'Make It So!'

As far as the animated series, just as long as it's not the cliche stuff, then go ahead:
Animated Cast:
 Kelsier: Viggio
Vin: Summer Glau
Elend: Orlando Bloom
Lord Rule: Keanu
Breeze: Chris Rock
Spook: Hayden Christensen
Zane: Christian Slater
Ham: A.C. Slater..pysche... Christian Bale
Sazed: Morgan Freeman
Club: Tommy Lee Jones or Samuel L. Jackson
Marsh: Anthony Michael Hall
did i miss anyone???

It's better to have talented unknowns as voice actors, rather than big-name movie stars. Movie stars eat up the production budget and often contribute little to the role aside from box-office recognition, especially when the actor is so well-known that they overwhelm the character's personality with their own.

I hope no one has said this yet, but for the lord ruler, could there be anyone better for the part than Rodrigo Santoro?

Ok...
-I think that Nathan Fillion is perfect for Kelsier.  I've seen him in Firefly (How many browncoats we got here on these fora, anyway?)
-Though it may be a bit too much in terms of re-uniting the cast, I think that Alan Tudyk would be a great Breeze-he has the charm, and can pull off just about any role.  (I've heard of his diversity, and also seen him in 28 days...though it took me a while to connect him to Wash.)
-Summer Glau could pull off the Vin stunts, and definitely has experience  with the type of character...However, I always pictured a more Ellen Page look for Vin, and I'd think she'd be able to pull it off.  (You don't get anywhere near an Oscar unless you've got some talent, imo)
-Alan Rickman would be a good Marsh, assuming he and Fillion don't have to look too alike.  I think he'd be able to pull off the Marsh-inquisitor perfectly.

I think we should also do a disaster cast-a cast stupidly butchered by Hollywood...we could put all the wrong people in places for the greatest comic effect!

-Ahhnold Schwarzenegger could get Ham's role... this would be hilarious, though not in a good way.  Though he is busy governating.
-Keanu Reeves for Kelsier.  (I think we can anticipate a collective roll of the eyes from everyone here)  However, with Hollywood, who knows...
-Sean Connery for TLR.  Yeah.
Gorram Frakking Woolhead!

I don't know why but I've always picture Breeze as John Rhys-Davies, and maybe Jason Stathon for Ham? not many muscular guys that can pull of being philosophical at the same time.. I would say Heath Ledger for Kelsier, but he's dead. Malcolm McDowell for TLR. He's just got this look of i love you but at the same time I'm controlling your lives. All I've got for now

I'm new to the forum and like playing this game, so I thought I'd chime in. I always pictured the nobility as speaking in more aristocratic tones and the skaa as more simplistic. I tried to keep the age range relatively balanced, all the young characters are young, all the older characters are old.

Vin - Summer Glau (As has been mentioned)
Kelsier - Carey Elwes (For some reason when reading the book I kept picturing him as Westley from the princess bride. Anyone who plays Kelsier needs to know how to smile)
Dockson - Ian Holm (Dockson to me brings up the image of dock from snow white)
Ham - Vinnie Jones
Breeze - Ian McNeice
The Lord Ruler - Hugo Weaving
Marsh - Kevin McKidd
Sazed - Erick Avari
Elend - James McAvoy
Spook - Matt Doran (Mouse from the matrix)
Zane - Zachary Quinto (I know, cliche, but he really does do crazy well)
Lord Renoux + OreSeur/TenSoon (voice) - Alan Rickman

As alot of people already stated, I believe Summer Glau would make an excellent Vin. I also agree with Nathan Fillion for Kelsier.

Has anyone considered Matt Damon for Elend?
