I just really hope they get around to explaining why the two Korean people spend so much time speaking Japanese.

And I hope it's a better reason than "ah, the stupid American viewers will never notice."

Since I don't speak Japanese or Korean I wouldn't know. I know both of the actors are Korean (well one is American-Korean). If they are speaking Japanese, they would have to have been taught it on the set cause neither list being able to speak Japanese on their IMDB resume.

But now I need to move on to Battlestar Galactica, so that more of my time gets wasted in front of the TV and DVD player.

I'm happy because it's been a nice, quiet day and I've been able to do some necessary and some just-for-fun writing.

I'm also happy because I have the coolest dreams--they're vignettes of ready-made worlds and plots.

I thought they spoke Korean. At least, it was Korean enough for EUOL to translate it. Any time one of them would say something I'd start yelling "What'd they say? What'd they say?" until EUOL translated. Eventually he did it automatically.  :D

I'm happy because after a slightly lonely New Years Eve I went to my local singles ward and found some old friends who I didn't know were here--and made some new ones. The singles ward needs some strong, active people, my friends said, so they were excited that I'd be sticking around for four months. Yay! I like to be needed. And I'm glad to make friends--hanging out with my fam's alright, but you can only take so much.  ;)

Try this one
Me and some famous actors were fighter pilots. Tom Cruise was shot down. I see his parachute land just as my plane is shot down. I manage to make it back, but no one has seen Tom. Turns out he was abducted by aliens (suspiciously reinforcing his scientology) and the govt was covering it up. Then when we try to reveal the truth, the govt starts trying to crack down on us, until Tom showed back up. Then people started helping us. They got us to the airport, got us the prescription glasses we needed (yeah, I dunno either) and got us flights out of town. I decided to go to Las Vegas, because westerners are notorious conspiracy theorists and I could get a place to stay out there just by knocking on someone's door and telling them that the government was after me.

I dunno.

Heh. Of all the places to go in the west, your brain picks Vegas.

The worlds I dream of are sci-fi or fantasy worlds. A civilization living on flets and about to evolve into flight. A planet-eater/void-creater trying to kill a teenage boy because his father has run away and he needs control over the planet. Yeah. Stuff like that.

alien abduction isn't sci-fi? What, are you scientologist too?

It's not so weird that I'd pick Vegas. after all, I spent two years (less two weeks) of my life there.

What's weirder is picking Tom Cruise. That doesn't make me... gay does it?

I had a strange dream where I was an elimentalist and I blew up a cloud. The water came down muddy. And I could levitate anything that was wood or stone or stuff because it was part of the earth. It weirded me out, almost as much as the time that raptors dressed up as humans so that they could ambush me in the movie theater. Or the time that I was Frodo and there where like a billion One Rings and I had to pick them all up, lest the army of orcs that where coming got them. For some reason Galadriel was there.

I'm happy because I've seen more movies in the last 2 weeks than I've seen in the year before that. I'm now prepared to argue with any of you about King Kong, Narnia, or Harry Potter.

Cool.  But this begs a very important question, e. Does this, by chance, cancel out your grumpiness from being around folks who've got "their heads up their butts"?? :o

Not really. The latter causes me to live out my days in fear and anger.

The former distracts me for a few hours from the fear and anger.

Ah. Well, pleasant distractions do seem to be a necessary component for sanity these days.

I could've sworn I locked this. But I'm certainly happy to do it now.
