Well, it's probably not what you're looking for (since the only song I recognized on this whole list is Lion sleeps tonight) but there's also "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" (I think by Dr. Demento).  It's worth a laugh.

So he wasn't exactly rock, but Nat King Cole's "Straighten Up and Fly Right" is pretty animal goofy.

Well, with all my ADD, I did actually manage to make this CD. I've given it a few listen tos, and I think I did a good job. I ended up with a list of songs that to include all would have been around 2 hours. Maybe there'll be a disc 2 someday, but I doubt it.

behold!

No Fellfrosch? I feel personally slighted.

as well you should, especially since as you read the list you'll see that the song Fellfrosch doesn't fit in with any of the others I've put on there, with the possible slight exception of the Primus.

Frankly, if you can't build your whole life around me you've got your priorities in the wrong place.

Yeah, I was noticing that Ookla, TMBG, B-52s, and PRIMUS of all bands were the only ones with two songs on the disc. But then most of my favorite bands: Rush, Matthew Sweet, etc, don't do many songs about animals. The Kinks do, but "Animals in the Zoo" is really hard to find on mp3 and I only have it on vynal.

oh, no, i didn't use it. As the subject was gaining a testimony of Christ, I suppose I could have adapted the quote out of context, but I choose not to break the mood that was otherwise adapting.

Though I did once quote Mystery Men in a talk I gave. "I have a gift. I shovel really well."
