I'm with you, Chill.  Five felt like a delaying tactic to me--but six is where she'll have to set up for the finale.  I'm thinking this should be a pretty good one.

Yup, I'm anxiously awaiting this books arrival. And I've decided that some of my other books will have to take a back seat when it comes.

I love Harry Potter. I just re-listened to book 5 on CD so my memory will be fresh for book 6. Maybe this time I'll figure out the surprise ending (if she has one). I always set out with the goal to figure it out, but I swallow all of her red herrings--once I get swept up in the story, I'm a very accepting reader; I will believe what the author tells me. I totally thought it was Snape in the first book, even though when you go back and read it a second time you can see that she included references to Quirrell in all the right places. (And if you haven't read the first book and I spoiled something for you, I sniff haughtily and say you deserve it for putting off reading such a fabulous book.)

I figure the new one is going to involve some royalty of mixed ancestry.

I can't wait for this book and to hear everyone's gasped anticipation as I'm laying down wondering why everything's black, until I realize I've just gotten up.

Also, I've never finished the first one, and have no intentions to ever read any of them. But that's just me being proliferated.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

But you are totally missing out!  ;D

I am proud to say I discovered and loved Harry Potter before it became a mass craze, but I think I would have picked it up anyway because instead of thinking that because a book is popular that means it can't be good, I usually think the opposite--ESPECIALLY in children's and YA. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, though.

Me and my friend are all ready to go to the Midnight opening at our local B&N bookstore!  My mom bought my dad a copy for father's day, so I'll be reading it most of the day Saturday!   ;D

My wife and I are so waiting for this book.  Amazon promised to deliver it on Saturday, so we have high hopes. You know its funny. I resisted the urge to read the book once the craze started becuase I figured it was a child's story book. I'm happy to say that while it is, that it is so much more. We bought the first four books as a box set for our then 1 year old so that he could have something to read as he got older. So we read those books to hime everynight as a bedtime story and got hooked ourselves. Scary how that works.

Yay! Tomorrow I shall get to participate in the spoiler thread! I wasn't going to be able to read it for for-ev-er, but MoD is the sweetest and sent it to me. Now, I shall be up half the night and probably forget to clean the house tomorrow.
