It's the first straight up soap opera that has made it into the prime time slots?

90210 came close but it was about teens so...

What about Melrose Place? I can't claim to have seen it, but it always seemed pretty soapy to me.

Melrose Place was over the top soap. But prime time soaps have a loooong history. Dallas, anyone? Dynasty? But I suppose the OC is a teen prime time soap. 90210 was definitely a soap by the end. I liked it when it first started, but then it turned into a junior Melrose.
