arms....
« on: May 08, 2003, 05:55:35 PM »
I just saw the press conference with that Ralston guy on CNN. Probably most of you heard about him and didn't bother to tell me, but this is the first I heard of it.

The guy's arm was trapped under a boulder for FIVE DAYS!!!!!!! And then he cut it off to free himself, WITH A POCKET KNIFE!!!!!!!!!!

What I want to know, is what did he eat for five days (parts of the arm, perhaps?) and how the heck did he have the strength to cut off his OWN ARM with a POCKET KNIFE!

This is just too freaky....

Yeah, that story was nuts. I don't know if I could do that, but after five days under a boulder in the snow, who knows what you're capable of?

The second that boulder starts looking like Darth Vader I'd be cutting off my own arm as well.

Spends his life in pursuit of little blue guys in sissy white outfits and mentally abusing his cat. What does he plan to do with the blue dwarfs when he catches them anyway?

The story as a whole is amazing, but there's a few tidbits that really caught my attention.

First, the pocketknife he had was apparently some freebie he got when he bought his flashlight: i.e. not very good quality.  Due to this he had a lot of trouble sawing through his arm and bones.  So he BROKE HIS RADIUS AND ULNA first before he cut through.

Talk about amazing...

I think i want to change my superhero character to this guy. God knows what powers he would have.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

Zenki, please read the FAQ. In it you will learn that resurrecting old threads for no good reason is highly frowned upon.
