I'm currently recoding the FPM site from scratch. I'm codenaming the project "Galactibase" for now, and I plan to make it available for anyone to use who has PHP and MySQL on their server.

So, I want to know, what sorts of features do you like in your comic sites? If possible, could you link to a comic that demonstrates this feature? These can be from either a reader or a creator standpoint.

some planned features:

• Standard Navigation, doable by day or by week.
  
• Navigation within a "theme" or "Storyline" (two different conceptualizations for grouping comics)
  
• Calendar display for comics by month
  
• complete calendar display for all comics in the archive
  
• List of comics by theme or storyline
  
• Searchable by news items or by dialog or by character
  
• Comments from readers
  
• Selectable Notification for new comics and/or news and/or comments
  
• Form-based comic upload and editing, as well as editing news and comments (for admins)
  
• "turning off" comments and/or news
  
• Rearranging feature placement on the view pages
  

I'm not currently planning on making the weekly views capable of showing the news or comments associated with them.

I hate reading comics from readers. That would be okay in a forum, because I could ignore it, but not on the page itself.

i assume you mean comments from readers. So you would like comments to be off by default without having to select it each time or have a cookie. (or not have them at all).

Hrm. I included the feature because I'm seeing it become a very popular device on a lot of comics. What if the comments were down below the news items, so you'd have to scroll down to see them?
