My mom is. In fact, I'm leaving in 30 minutes to go pick her up from the airport. She had offered to watch them, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to go. Yay!

Congrats, Nessa!

I'm happy that at work they gave me some poor grad students to order around for a few months. I'm all tipsy with power now.

Nessa, I'm so jealous. Enjoy the time away from the munchkins.

Hmm. Do you know of anyone who might be interested in borrowing my own personal male-dominated nerd herd for a weekend? ^_~

I'm happy because my section of English 150 has been moved out of the testing center. Not only was the classroom funky and unable to meet the needs of the students, but there's kind of a bad karma about having a class in the testing center. Not that my new classroom is perfect. It's on the sixth floor of the SWKT and there's a chalkboard in the room--not a whiteboard. *shudders*

I stayed away from TWG for well over a year. When I came back, my name was still the gArinch. How's that for a record?  ;D

I am happy that we only got an inch of snow this weekend in Denver.

Not sure if this is a grumpy or happy thing but my company, altiris, just got bought by Symantic (Norton AV).  Won't really know the negatives/positives until around the summer at the earliest, though I know several people I work with are quite happy that they're stocks are getting a huge bump from this deal.
Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!

Okay, so I had no idea that we worked for the same company. How funny!

Yeah, I feel the same. I was really shocked when I got to work yesterday and found out.

PS Where at Altiris do you work?

NM: Found you in the address book.

At first I thought someone was softening you up before sending their manuscript . . . 'cause that's what I'm planning on doing.  :)

Well, they *better* not have my home address, if so. That'd be more freaky than funny.

My daughter announced this morning, at no suggestion of my own, that she wants to be an editor when she grows up. She then got out a whole bunch of papers to begin her career.

I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I prefer writing, but editing is still related. On the other, at least she isn't writing Star Wars fan fiction where Jabba the Hutt wants to bake Leia into a cake with hair frosting and Lando and Han have to come save her anymore.

On that note--

At long last, I am now officially an editor. A Junior Editor, to be sure, but my three years as a copy editor have finally gotten me to the next level.

Hooray!!!!
