Urban Arcana--TV
« on: April 14, 2005, 06:22:34 PM »
Well, it looks as though Urban Arcana is being made into a TV series for SciFi.

Not sure if this will be good or bad. It really can go either way for me.

Interesting. I fired off an email to Toby, we'll see what he says.

Hehe, Toby's reaction was priceless.  From what Fell told me none of them over at wizards knew about it, and there's no "Worlds of Wonder" game either.
Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!

Good chance the TV license was sold a long time ago and either no one knew about it, or no one remembers.
Notice that it mentioned that they bought the rights from Hasbro, not WotC.

Or because it doesn't come out until 2006, maybe negotiations are still being done.

But I did find it odd that I hadn't heard rumors before this.

Essentially, because Hasbro is the controlling company it looks like they can do whatever they want. I'm sure WotC was involved, but the PR department wasn't (because the show isn't far enough along that Hasbro or Fox saw any need to involve WotC PR yet, I assume).
