HeroClix feats: Legacy

Part 1: http://www.timewastersguide.com/view.php?id=1030

One question that I'm not certain of is whether In Contact With Oracle will allow you to alter range--Spriggan said no, but I was under the impression that range counted as a regular combat value. Is there a specific FAQ answer or rules thread we can link to for an answer?

I'll have to look but I'm fairly sure I read that it can only alter values on your dial.

Nope looks like I was wrong, found the original post on the WK forums where I read this and it turns out I missread it, range can be increased with ICwO.

Cool. It's an easy mistake to make: the rules for Perplex specifically mention range, but the rules for ICwO do not. I'll add a little parenthetical to the article.

You missed 2 things that I think are significant:

1. Damage Shield only activates after the chosen character is the subject of a close combat attack.  Ranged attacks do not activate damage shield.  This is a major downside to the power, but not one that renders it useless or worthless.

2. The self-perplex function of ICwO only activates when the agent takes an action.  You cannot self-perplex and not do anything (i.e. stand still and boost your defense for a turn.)

We mentioned the first point, though only in passing, and we implied the second. I'll go back and make them both more explicit.

Not to be picky, but are you sure?  I read over the article and found no indication of either.

I thought I did. Maybe it got cut at some point. I still haven't re-edited, so thanks for the reminder.

From the "Tricks" section

Quote
seudo-Mystics team ability that only works against close combat attacks

I'm fairly sure I mentioned it more specific in the original draft but I don't have access to that file on this computer.

So in thinking about this I came up with a question...if you outwit a power on a fig that has a feat, and that power is a prerequisite for the feat, does the fig lose access to the feat?  I would guess that it does, but I'm not sure.

yes, but it dose not loose the feat card, so once they get the power back then could then use that feat.

One more reason that Fastball Special sucks.

You'd have to combine it with two Fortitudes, since they can Outwit either one guy's Super Strength or the other guy's Toughness. So to make Fastball Special unoutwitable, you need fifty extra points.

Sweet.
