City of Villains Heroclix
« on: May 23, 2005, 01:31:19 PM »
As Spriggan predicted, they're putting out a bunch of clix based on City of Villains characters, but rather than make it an Indy set, they're only doing 7 and making them LEs and promos.

Well there might be more, WK said the "big" announcement was going to come in July with Comic Con.  Though I must say those are some cool looking villians.
Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!

Now that I've reread it, the last line of that article certainly leaves it open for a full CoH/CoV set. And it would be a lot more interesting than another freaking Marvel set.

How you get all 7 is by buying the collectors edition if you buy just the regular edition you only get 2 random figs (one good and one bad).

They have stats for...
CoH: Statesman (new), Positron, Manticore
CoV: Lord Recluse, Capt. Mako, Black Scorpion, and Ghost Widow.

Pretty cool stuff.

Some of those are pretty cool, but Ghost Widow rocks. I'd play her any day.

Yeah, I agree.  Ghost Widow is the coolest scuplt-wise and dial-wise.

Interesting that the big Comic Con announcements didn't have anything to do with HeroClix.

Those are some cool villains, sadly I doubt I'm going to shell out $80 for the CoV collectors edition just to get them.

Yea to Fell for Winning a Mantacore.

For me I'm glad I got to play the Luthor team, I learned that the medic really isn't all that worth while.

I liked my team, and I thought it worked pretty well, but it's main problem was mobility. Using Thunderbolts to copy the Defenders team ability is great, and abusing the Unique Wasp makes it even better, but I had to keep them all next to each other to make it work. That was fine against most of the teams I played against, but that last guy relied really heavily on positioning and I just couldn't manuever very well.

In other news, I've decided that I must solve the riddle of Shazam! I've never seen him win a game, no matter who is playing him or who they're playing against. There's got to be a way, and I shall find it!

I don't know why, Shazam! is a good fig.  I'd play him much like KC Supes, I'd put Fortitude, Protected, and Unstoppable.  Thats 294 right there.

Since he's got an almost full dial of EW or Outwit dose he really need any support?

That's what I'm thinking. Fortitude is a must on him, because a single Outwit can shut him down and he's too expensive to bring a counter-Outwit. That leaves 18 points, so Protected and Unstoppable might be good, but I'm not entirely sure. I'm still looking.

Well Protected, when it comes out, will be the must have feat card.  I suspect that you'll see games with 3-5 of those cards in play becoming quite frequent.  I also suspect that they'll be very pricey on e-bay.  I'm not sure what else you could add since really the only two feats worth replacing Unstoppable with is Hay-maker or Armor Piercing.

Also I think I have my team for the next time I play at Dragon's Keep...muh hahahahaha.
