man have you seen zelda in action, its like a million times better than the screens. you have to see it to understand how beaytiful it is. if i would have to chose one game on the gamecube to play for the rest of my life it would probably be zelda

While Zelda is a good game, I'll admit I got bored playing it after a while.  It's fun at first, but the constant fetching and travelling back and forth get old after a while.  The dungeon play is where it really shines and there was a large span of gameplay where there were no dungeons to enter at all.  A very good game, but not as good as I hoped.  And it still doesn't touch the original nor A Link to the Past.

Now Metroid Prime, there's a game I'd happily play for the rest of my life.

In my defense, I have played the new Zelda, and I still think the graphical style is painful. That's just my opinion, though.
