Zelda: The Wind Waker
« on: March 28, 2003, 02:47:15 PM »
I picked this up yesterday and all I can say is wow!  Gamecube may not have as many high quality games as the other platforms, but when a game is great on GC it is a whole 'nother caliber of greatness (re: Metroid).

I'll have more to tell as I play more, but right now I've got to get back to it...only a few more days of spring break left and a lot of Zelda to play!

 :-/  hmmm,
Read reviews of link, some made it out to be "totally new\different"...
I don't own a GC  (ps2 and box here)
I have thought about getting a GC for resident evil.
Anyone else play the "new" Zelda game?
(I still LOVE the 8 bit version!, everyonce in a while)
I am new to the forum, and hope that I ain't overstepping any bounds here...

heh. Pleasington said nearly the same thing when he first arrived, ivy.
There are no limits like that. Just don't mention hard work. We have a name to uphold here.

Do we even have bounds that can be overstepped? I'd better make some up:

2. No one is allowed to spell "definitely" correctly. We prefer "defiantly," in honor of the Sanderson boys.

3. No one is allowed to recommend a game or political viewpoint unless they are prepared to mindlessly attack anyone who disagrees.

4. No one is allowed to call Tage by his proper name. Please use "Love Monkey."

5. No swimming until half an hour after eating.

1. Always start with rule #2.

There, that should be plenty. Alright now, let's keep it under control and follow the rules.

Look, all I know is that Wind Waker defiantly looks retarded. Not just dumb, retarded.

I may end up getting it anyway, though. Just because I'm hypocritical like that.

Shoot, I never did finish Ocarina.

Ok, I'm a tad bit confused here. I defiantly see how those rules would apply here. The part that gets me screwed up is how #1 is...in a sense #6. Maybe #1 should be "Refer to number 6." I bet that'd make the rules a bit more enumurated. Heh, I like that word. Enumurated.

I wish I had a GC. Maybe thats why I'm looking harder now to find a job...I swear for some reason someone out there has made my name a sin on the job market. So ya, I'm going to go and enumurate or something.

Then where's #1? It certainly isn't in good judgement to make it last now is it?! Bah-ju-ki!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! TANGENT!

Regardless of who is responsible, I blame Love Monkey.

Yes, everyone (including me) though Zelda looked retarded.  Then you play it and you see the genius of a cell shaded world...utterly immersive and expressive.

*gush gush gush*

Did I really say such a thing upon joining?  How does anyone remember that?

Regardless, welcome Ivy!

Yep. Im sure you did. Cannot remember in what topic though. I think there is an option to see all of a persons posts somewhere in the profile section.

And i remember because i have the wierdest memory known to mortal man. I can remember the controls for Homeworld. I cannot remember what i had for breakfast yesterday. I can barely remember what happened in a books storyline after i just finished it, but i can remember entire webpages by heart several months after i looked at them.

Okay - on a somewhat related note:

I have a history class (a big one - about 100 students) and there is a goofy kid who sits on the front row and plays the old scholl Zelda on his laptop all class long.  And not just one time, but every single class period.  And then he raises his hand and makes totally unrelated comments because he hasn't been paying attention all hour.  And he wears the same Dr. Suess shirt almost every day.

You know, myabe I shouldn't criticize - i bet that a lot of people that visit this site think he's really cool.
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier.

Nope, not very cool.  That guy is wasting his tuition money.  Old school Zelda is cool though.

What, Mustard, do you think that the people in the forum are the people you fear playing Heroclix against in the mall?

C'mon, man.  I'm a closet geek.  :)
