Palladium messes up big time
« on: May 12, 2004, 09:06:34 AM »
So palladium finaly decides to lincence out Rifts to be made into a Video game, and you'd think they'd actualy try to make it on a system that people play.  But no, what do they do?  The lincence it exclusivly for the freaking N-gauge wich NO ONE owns.  Morons.  http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/05/11/news_6097483.html

When I first read that article all I could do is bang my head against the table.  There still are 3 more days of E3 and I'm hopeing that there's another rifts title that will get announced, one that isn't on a P.O.S system.

I know platform wars are in the corner, but the N-gage isn't a platform. The N-Gage is a sideways taco that makes the user look like a fool. Announcing a title for N-gage is kinda like saying your going to build a great new car, except it's not going to have an engine and you need to push it everywhere.

Aye, the N-gauge isn't a platform so it is free game here.  The game is sceduled to be released the middle of next year, I woudn't be surprised if the n-gauge was on it's last leg by then.  If they wanted to do a handheld game why not go for Sony's PSP wich is more powerfull then the PS2!  Or nintendo's new DS handheld (which looks cool).

The N-Gauge... Brilliant.  If only someone owned one, like, anywhere.  I was at gamestop last weekend and the guy asked if I wanted to buy one, naturally I said no, and he said, "That's what I figured, we haven't sold a single one since it was released".

I haven't even heard of this thing.  Guess that's part of the problem, eh?

I knew there was a game coming out, but I was really hoping it would be...well, not completely stupid. It doesn't matter how good this game is--no one is going to play it. Nobody owns the N-Gage, and they're crazy if they think people will buy one just for a Rifts game.

palladium put up a press release about the game, and this is the only Rifts game that's being made.

i think they were trying to go for the multi-player aspect of that particular system. I'm not excusing they're screwup, i'm merely trying to explain/understand it...
Their movie better do good now, cause two screw ups like this so close together will put them in the toilet

The N-Gauge does use Blue tooth wireless which is actualy realy cool, but both the PSP and DS are going to have effectively the same things (the DS will have it built in standard).  The down side is that to use the multi-player on the N-Gauge I've been told you have to use your minutes, which hurts alot.
