"Leading Edge" seeking submissions
« on: April 16, 2003, 04:46:05 PM »
"Leading Edge" Magazine is now actively soliciting manuscripts.  We're a 22-year-old semi-pro magazine, concentrating on new talent in science fiction and fantasy.

We're looking for fiction (up to 17,000 words), genre poetry, and even non-fiction articles.  We always welcome unsolicited manuscripts, and operate year-round.

For more information on where/how to submit, please visit http://tle.byu.edu or e-mail us at [email protected].  Writer's guidelines can be found at http://tle.byu.edu/wg.php.

Thanks, and we look forward to reading your manuscripts!

For those who don't know, TWG is an outgrowth of TLE, which is a great magazine and fairly big in the world of small-press sci-fi. If you have anything to send them please do so, and spread the word among your writer friends.

Hey, the TLE website is back! How'd you manage that, Chris?

As another tidbit of info, both TLE and TWG websites were designed by Jeff Creer, who goes by "42" on these forums. As you can plainly tell, he's VERY good.

What do you mean, Ben?  The "Leading Edge" website has been up and running since long before I started attending (about two years ago).  We had some server mishaps about two months ago, but we were only down for about 5 days.  Then again, on the internet, 5 days is an eternity.

Woah, really? Last I heard the website contents had been permanently deleted when the UUG shut down that server. Did you get them to reactivate it?

I did my bit to spread it around, Chris. reposted that message on AORP and even on the (mostly-defunct) Writers Group (which was recently threatened with a server hack on Apr 23 -- which is funny, because I have this incredible trust in my admin to fend off smack like that. I've warned him and I don't expect anything at all to happen on the 23rd or any other day)

Hey, thanks everyone for spreading the word.

Ben, we did go offline for 4 or 5 days after the UUG mishap/ringamarole, but I got us set back up on a BYUSA server. Not sure that it's an improvement, though...  :)
