Time Machine Thread #2
« on: June 20, 2003, 12:10:15 PM »
There's another Time Machine thread in the 'Rants and Stuff' section, and I didn't feel like coming up with a more creative name for this one just at the moment.

Question: If you had a one-way ticket to any point in time -- for instance, you have a one-time-use time machine -- what date would you choose? Keep in mind, its one way, so there's no coming back. You'd have to live in that time for the rest of your natural life, and any changes you made to the future (if you went backward) would not directly affect you.

Well, I had a friend once say this about time travel:

I wouldn't go to the future because I'm afraid things wouldn't be as I think they should. I wouldn't go to the past because I'm afraid things wouldn't be as I thought they were. So I'd just stay right here were I know things aren't as I think they ought to be.
The Folly of youth is to think that intelligence is a subsitute for experience. The folly of age is to think that experience is a subsitute for intelligence.

Lets say just yourself, the clothes on your back, and anything that's readily available that you can carry in your hands.

Oh, then can I just go to a tropical island that has good power and Internet resources? I'm pretty happy with my own time.
