Adventures on the DC metro....
« on: July 21, 2003, 08:53:19 AM »
I rode the bus to the Pentagon this morning (one of the biggest transfer points in Northern VA. It was enough to make me realize how much the area has changed in 20 years. Once upon a time in DC there was no security at all. When I was 7 you could still drive by the White House (back when they were giving 10 tours a day) Anyone could enter the Capital without having to go through a metal detector and if you had a smile and a good reason to go anyone could go into the Pentagon.
Now light armored vehicles guard everything guards with machineguns walk around everywhere at the pentagon at least.
Its an automated robot. Based on Science!
