Camera fun shots
« on: January 01, 2004, 08:04:25 PM »
So as many of you know I got a pet ferret for my b-day. For x-mas I got a digital camera. And here is the picture I snapped of my ferrey, Nefertiti, that I find to be rather humerous.

Man, if I had a six-pence every time someone said fiskars and cute in the same sentence. I'd be one poor hobo.

Yes Nefer is a kit (baby ferret). She's 8 weeks old. They told me she would grow some more. If she grows a lot then perhaps they really gave a wolverine. Which would be cool.

And the fiskar logo is actually a brand of paper-cutters and scissors.

Yeah, isn't that one of those things where you put the paper in it, the a thing comes down, holding the paper, and something slides across it and CUTS the paper?

I have something similar to that at home.

I thought he was showing scale. Which is why I asked if she was a baby. She's awfully small.

I just thought the word "Fiskars" was a cool juxtaposition with a ferret. It rhymes with "whiskers" (which is incidentally what I named my first guinea pig) and also sounds like "frisky" which are two things that describe most ferrets.

Whiskers was the name of my cat in high school. My HS's mascot was the Wildcats, and the dance team I was on was the Wildcat Whiskers (corny, I know...). So my cat was Whiskers, in honor of that.

Cute!!

See, now I thought the ferret was just wandering all over 42's stuff with reckless abandon, which is in the general job description for all pets.

Ferrets are great.  Once you get over the smell.

An old roommate and I once took in a ferret that was no longer wanted by its owner.  The old owner had named her Misty, but we rechristened her Fatty.  Fatty Buttnaked.  Her tail was hairless from lack of love, hence the name.  In our care it promptly grew back.  Good old Fatty.  Ferrets are terribly endearing animals.
